Meet the authors 


Steve Case

Steve is Professor of Criminology at Loughborough University, having previously been an Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies at Swansea University. His primary research interests are youth justice, youth crime prevention and social justice.

Phil Johnson

Phil is Academic Subject Leader for Criminology at the University Centre at Blackburn College. Alongside his teaching, he has been involved in projects aimed at enhancing student employability and has pioneered several social enterprise schemes in Blackburn.

David Manlow

David is Principal Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Westminster. His main teaching and research interests are in the fields of youth justice, cultural criminology and critical criminological theory. He is also engaged in pedagogical research.

Roger Smith

Roger is Professor of Social Work at Durham University. His primary research interests are young people and crime, and he has published widely in this field. He also has an interest in research methods and innovations in social work.

Kate Williams

Kate is Senior Lecturer in Criminology at Aberystwyth University and Deputy Director of the Welsh Centre for Crime and Social Justice. Her research touches on psychology, criminal law, internet crime, criminological theory, and policy.
